If You’re Not Feeling It, Fake It has an interesting point to make, which is that, essentially, you can control your mood at work, and, furthermore, you should pretend to feel good when you’re not feeling so hot. Unfortunately, using “suck it up” as advice and quoting Adam Corolla make me roll my eyes (obviously I’m not in complete control of my mood). It would be nice if it were okay to feel bad every once in a while without having to package oneself in some way as happy. There is something to be said for authenticity (and basic civility) rather than simply faking it for the sake of others.
