Never Too Young

In the latest installment of the New York Times hurl-worthy series, Sensible Portrayals of the Emotionally Bankrupt ParentsĀ (Part 1 Children Are Not Decor), here is Part 2: Never Too Young for That First Manicure. I’d say that’s just not true. And that photo would be a lovely place to start a discussion with your child about class.

  1. OMG OMG! They have one of these places sort of by me! About 20 minutes away on Long Island anyway. They were offering a free makeover to any girls going to the nearby Hannah Montana concert.

    Barf.

  2. That’s pretty scary. Heaven help us. Okay, I was going to get a pedicure, but have decided against it. I’ll pick up the foot spa from ULTA for $40 and massage my own feet!

Those six years olds in spas are a world away from these folks. Is this really one country?

  3. GG - ewww - Hannah Montana frightens me; she wears so much makeup and has all that crazy hair. I don’t get this aesthetic, but it must appeal to someone; they’ve been playing her 3D show for weeks here.

  4. Yes, I too believe in vapid materialism.

Speaking of Hannah Montana, since when was banality and mediocrity a good role model for our children?
